The measured distance between the centers of your pupils is called PUPILLARY DISTANCE (or PD). This measurement is used to determine where to mount the lenses optical center and because of this the pupillary distance should be as accurate as possible.
The average PD of an adult is between 54-74 mm, while the average PD of a child is 43-58 mm.
