What is PD (pupillary distance) and why is it important?
The measured distance between the centers of your pupils is called pupillary distance (or PD). This measurement is used to determine where to mount the lenses optical center.
Every pair of prescription eyewear have an optical center, which means where on the lenses you look through them. We use this to make sure you get the best experience possible with the YouZee Inserts.
The average PD of an adult is between 54-74 mm, while the average PD of a child is 43-58 mm.

Stand 20 cm (8 inches) away from the mirror
Place yourself 20 cm away from the mirror and face it straight on. If you have a friend helping you they should be this distance away as well.

Place the ruler
Hold the millimeter ruler against your brow. If a friend is helping you measure, have them place the ruler against your eye brow.

align the ruler
Align the ruler's 0 mm mark with the center of your left pupil, while holding your right eye closed. If a friend is helping you, make sure that they are out of your field of vision and have them crouch or sit down, while you choose a spot to look at in the distance

Switch your open eye
Looking straight ahead, close your left eye and open your right eye. Do not move the ruler.

The millimeter line that aligns with the center of your right eye is your pupillary distance.

- Measure your PD at least 3-4 times to make sure that the measurement is correct.
