How to measure your pupillary distance at home.

We recommend our customers to ask their optician to include the pupillary distance (PD) in the prescription when they receive it, but sometimes this is forgotten. Follow the visual guide below to learn how to measure your PD at home, either by yourself or with the help of a friend.

What is PD (pupillary distance) and why is it important?

The measured distance between the centres of your pupils is called pupillary distance (or PD). This measurement is used to determine where the optical centre of the lenses should be positioned.

Every pair of prescription glasses has an optical centre, which means where on the lenses you look through them. We use this to ensure you get the best possible experience with YouZee Clip-Ins.

The average PD for an adult is between 54-74 mm, while the average PD for a child is 43-58 mm.

You have 2 options.

    1. Measure yourself with a millimetre ruler. Follow the instructions on this page.
    2. Send us a photo. Don't want to measure yourself?  Follow this guide.
